Initially, my idea was to particularly focus on the aspect that Trochlear dysplasia is most prevalent in young, active females and that this could be due to the female anatomy. It then changed to how women are being dismissed and ignored when approaching medical advice when experiencing pain, connecting to knee pain with Trochlear dysplasia. However, after pitching my idea and speaking to my supervisor, I decided to focus on Trochlear dysplasia solely.

I will be investigating Trochlear dysplasia and discovering the mystery behind it as there are many inconclusive arguments and contradictions about this condition. We both discussed how this could be an original angle with it being an uncommon condition and how there are many gaps in research and information about it. I think there is something really interesting, moving and powerful about solely focusing on Trochlear dysplasia - it is said to be rare but relatively common (as studies contradict) and I think this is worth examining further. There is also a strong element of a personal effect that I can use to my advantage as it is also my story to tell. For this reason, I'll be going on a journey/adventure of discovery to get to the bottom of what it is, whilst also tying in parts of my personal story and experience.
I will also still be interweaving other women's personal stories of their experience with Trochlear dysplasia. Overall, I wish to speak to the women who had commented on my post (and more women with the condition), an orthopaedic or a knee consultant regarding Trochlear dysplasia and possibly, but not definitely, a charity/support group about Trochlear dysplasia and any other supporting professionals that can help.
I feel that this could be a great project and I am genuinely excited to embark on this journey as not only me but many other women can relate to it too. Stay tuned!
